The Indian legal outsourcing / LPO / legal KPO team at SDD Global Solutions in Mysore has done it again. In a decision by a California Federal Court in Los Angeles released yesterday, U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson ruled in favor of nine Hollywood film defendants in a copyright case, where the legal research and first drafts of the legal papers for the defense were done by outstanding, U.S.-law-trained attorneys in India. The lawsuit involved the Sacha Baron Cohen movie, "Bruno." A leading celebrity news site, TMZ, referred to yesterday's decision as "the 487,007,784th legal victory for Cohen and his lawsuit-inducing mega-flicks." Over 16,400 media outlets already have picked up the story. SDD Global is credited in both the brief on the motion to dismiss, and the reply brief. Congratulations in particular to Ashish Kumar, Preethi Venkataramu, and Abhinav Chandon, the SDD Global lawyers who proved once again that with legal off-shoring, corporate and individual defendants and their U.S. counsel can fight and win, without worrying that the cost of the defense will be higher than the cost of settling.
